H amilton Funeral Home offers a variety of service choices to honor the memory of your loved one.
Funerals are a reflection of the individual and celebrate their life and impact on those who loved them.
Personalized funerals are frequently more involved, giving people a chance to remember what made that individual so unique.
As you consider the following funeral service options please remember that funerals are truly for the living….they help families and friends say goodbye, they allow for sharing of memories and through funeral rituals we can obtain comfort and reaffirm our faith and beliefs.
Traditional funeral services: The body is prepared (embalmed) and present at the visitation and service, followed by earth burial. Many find comfort in this long-standing tradition, centered around the visual affirmation of seeing their loved one at the service.
The Hamilton Funeral Home has owned and operated the Minnesota River Valley Services Crematory located in Marshall since June of 1999.
Traditional - with cremation:
The body is present and can be placed in a “rental casket”. Upon completion of the funeral service, cremation takes place and is often followed by earth burial of the urn at a cemetery of your choice. This reinforces the importance of having the body present for services and then allows families who choose cremation as final disposition.
Memorial services often involve having the urn present at the service along with photos and other memorabilia. Burial or entombment of the cremains (ashes)can follow but is not required.
Occasionally a family prefers to simply meet at the cemetery for an interment of either the casket or the urn.
Hamilton Funeral Home has available a large inventory of caskets ranging in a variety of styles, materials, and prices. These include steel and copper caskets, and also the warmth and natural beauty of solid hardwoods.
We offer a complete selection of burial vaults from Wilbert Vault Co. which they deliver and set up at the gravesite. An unsealed grave liner is the minimum cemetery requirement to house a casket. Selecting a sealed burial vault provides long-lasting protection.
Cremation Urns are made of wood, bronze, brass, marble and plastic all in many designs. Many families choose to bury the urn (housing the cremains) at a family cemetery allowing for a permanent disposition.
Our staff directors can assist you in designing grave markers or monuments which are available in many shapes and sizes of granite colors. We have been associated with Kollmann Monument Company for several years.
