Adrian J. Hebig Sr. age 86, of Marshall, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 29 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Killian Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. with Rosary at 4 P.M. and a Prayer Service at 7 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Adrian John Hebig Sr. was born to George and Josepha (Loosbrock) Hebig on March 8, 1924 in Wilmont, Minnesota. He was baptized, received First Communion and confirmed at St. Kilian Catholic Church. He attended high school at Crosier Seminary in Onamia, graduating in 1944. He went on to attend St. Paul Seminary from 1945 to 1946. In 1947, he played professional baseball with the New York Giants organization. Adrian returned home to Wilmont where he played amateur baseball through 1960. On January 25, 1949, Adrian was united in marriage to Dolores Wagner in Wilmont where they resided until 1970 at that time moved to Marshall. He with his brother Alfred owned and operated the Hebig Implement in Wilmont. Adrian worked for Montgomery Ward in Worthington, Slayton Auto and sold Pyramid Life Insurance in Marshall. He retired in 1990. Adrian passed away at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. He had reached the age of 86 years. 2 months and 18 days. Adrian’s enjoyments in life were sports, amateur baseball and Minnesota Twins, bowling, golf and in his retirement woodworking. He made many pieces of furniture for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Dolores of Marshall; six children, Karla (Curt) Kepler of Slayton, Renee (Jerry) Bjornebo of Marshall, Denise (Rick) Jeseritz of Cottonwood, George (Lori) Hebig of Tracy, Sheila (Steve) Leary of Brookings, SD and Adrian Jr. (Niki) Hebig of Apple Valley; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sister Bona Joan Hebig of Dubuque, IA; also many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reynold and Alfred; and three sisters, Marcella, Julitta and Rita. Adrian was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at the time of his death. Blessed Be The Memory of Adrian J. Hebig Sr.
