Agnes Wiegers, age 100, of Marshall, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Minneota Manor Care Center. Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 –11:00 AM, on Wednesday, at the church.

Agnes Ameila Henrickson was born September 3, 1915, in Canby, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Emil and Ameila (Fricka) Henrickson. Agnes was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and grew up outside Canby. She started working at the age of 8 and attended school through the 8th grade and then continued to help her family serve area farmers.

In 1937, Agnes was united in marriage to John Dobrenski in Taunton, Minnesota, and the couple raised 3 children together. In 1954, Agnes moved her children to Marshall and began saving every penny she could. She was proud to open her first business in Green Valley: The Sunny Side Inn. On November 14, 1966, Agnes was married to Lyle Wiegers in Marshall. She then owned and operated Aggie’s Café in Ruthton followed by The Sunny Side Inn and Hi Way Café in Vesta. Agnes then managed the Fairfield Apartments in Marshall for another 25 years.

Agnes was a member of the Vesta Lions Club and enjoyed her snowmobiling club. Her other enjoyments in life included reading romance books, ceramics, dancing, and crocheting. She will be dearly missed.

Agnes died on Friday, July 29, 2016, in Minneota, Minnesota at the age of 100 years, 10 months and 26 days. Blessed be her memory.

Agnes is survived by two children, Ronnie (and Joanie) Dobrenski of Minneota, Bonnie Larson of Marshall; daughter-in-law, Dolly Dobrenski of Marshall; 11 grandchildren, Deb Hoof, Greg Dobrenski, David Dobrenski, Laurie Hoshino, Julie Michelson, Rick Dobrenski, Alan Dobrenski, Terri Miller, Randy Larson, Todd Larson, Sue Larson; 19 great-grandchildren; 26 ½ great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; her faithful companion fur baby, Monique; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Amelia Henrickson; husband, Lyle Wiegers; son, Jack Dobrenski; brothers, Delmer and Melvin Henrickson; sisters, Margaret Peterson and Myrtle Paul.

The family invites attendees to the church basement following the interment for a luncheon.
