Amanda Lillard

Amanda Lillard passed away on December 7, 2017, in Port Townsend, Washington. Memorial services will be held on March 22, 2018 at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park. Interment is in the Marshall Cemetery on Friday, March 23, 2018. The public is welcome to join the family for a graveside committal at 2:00 p.m.

Amanda Jane was born on January 11, 1927, in Rosebud, South Dakota, to parents John and Dora Brandt. She grew up on a farm outside of Marshall, Minnesota, and attended school there as well.

She and Albert C. Lillard were married in September of 1945 in Norman, Oklahoma. They divorced in 1950. Amanda lived in St. Louis Park starting in 1951. She worked at the Rainbow Café in Minneapolis at Hennepin and Lake for 29 years until it closed in 1979. She also worked at The Radisson Hotel, GE Capital, and Providers Choice. Amanda retired in 2005 and moved to Port Townsend, Washington, to be close to her daughter, Barbara J. Gray.

Amanda is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. (and Robert E.) Gray of Port Townsend, Washington, grandsons, Patrick and Jeffrey Gray, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, LaVon Determan of Orono, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Clara Brandt; her brother, James Brandt; and grandson, Michael E. Gray.
