Arlys Swanson

Marshall: Arlys L. Swanson, age 68, of Marshall, passed away at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls on Thursday, May 31, 2007.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Burial will be in the Russell City Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 6:00 P.M. prayer service Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior tothe service.Arlys Lavera Swanson was born to Gust A. and Viola H. (Jahnke) Krebs on July 18, 1938 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie.  She worked at various health care facilities as a nursing  assistant.On October 10, 1970, Arlys was united in marriage to Clarence H. Swanson at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  They farmed in Lynd Township. Clarence passed away on January 28, 1986. Arlys continued to live on the farmstead until she moved into Marshall in 2000.Arlys passed away at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls on Thursday, May 31, 2007. She had reached the age of 68 years, 10 months and 12 days.She is survived by her son and his wife, Charles and Melissa Swanson of Lynd; two grandchildren, Casey Ann and Camry Marie Swanson; brother and his wife, Roger and Debbie Krebs of Circle Pines; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; two brothers, Marlin and Elroy Krebs; and sister, Ardean Krebs.Arlys was an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, and was member of the Westside Club.The love of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and doing things with them.
