Casie Ulrich, age 43, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Varsity Pub in Marshall, Minnesota. The family strongly encourages everyone to wear Green and Yellow in support of Casie's wishes. As Casie did not care for them, floral donations are strongly discouraged. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial donations to the family.
Casie Lyn Ulrich was born on March 9, 1978, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the daughter of Keith “Fuzzy” and Lori (Ryan) Ulrich. She was baptized as an infant in the Christian faith and attended school in Colorado and Nebraska. Casie spent much of her life in the state of Wisconsin, where she developed her love for football and the Packers.
Casie worked several jobs and while with AT&T, she was transferred to Marshall in 2012. Shortly thereafter Casie began to work at Applebee’s where she served in every role. Her drive to help others and keep them fed was obvious in the way she navigated as a server and bartender over the past nine years.
Casie was active in softball most of her life, even making her way on to an all-star team. She played on Summer Leagues and later enjoyed sharing her love of softball with her children by coaching their teams. Casie’s other enjoyment in life included Pull Tabs, playing bingo, going to the casinos, hanging out with friends at Fuzzy’s or the Varsity Pub, and spending the hot summer days at the lake.
Casie died on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She reached the age of 43 years, 2 months, and 24 days. Blessed be her memory.
Casie is survived by her three children, Jasmine Ulrich of Hutchinson, Ryan Dibley (Zitlali Flores) of St. Paul, Mikayla Ulrich of Marshall; significant other, Dean Lemke, of Marshall; mother, Lori (Joe) McAvoy of Omaha, NE; father, Keith “Fuzzy” (Deb Truax-Ulrich) Ulrich of Waupaca, WI; sisters, Michelle (A.J.) Ryan, of La Vista, NE, Jen Metzler of Casper, WY, Chelsea McAvoy of Richmond, VA; aunt, Debbie (Dennis) McCune of Denver, CO; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Nancy and Eugene Moyer, Rose and Ed Truax; and aunt, Mary Jo Page.
