Lynd: Cheryl Renee (Wiener) Hankins, age 54, of Lynd, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 16, 2010. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Albright United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service Wednesday at Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Cheryl was born to Virgil and Pauline (Wilcox) Wiener on July 1, 1956 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. She was baptized, received her first communion and was confirmed at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. She graduated from Marshall High School. On August 24, 2002, Cheryl was united in marriage to Don Hankins and they made their home in Lynd. Cheryl worked as a cashier/clerk at HyVee in Marshall. Spending time with her family, especially her husband, Don, was the love of her life. Cheryl lovingly gave a special gift of a kidney to her husband in December of 2006. She enjoyed music, making people laugh, feeling loved and needed. Cheryl passed away suddenly at her home in Lynd on Saturday evening October 16, 2010. She had reached the age of 54 years, 3 months and 15 days. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Don; her mother, Pauline of Marshall; four siblings, Norma (Greg) Gile of Marshall, Darrel (Karen) Wiener of Marshall, Dorene (Jim) Bye of White Bear Lake, and Bev Hess of Marshall; mother-in-law, Shirley Hankins, of Marshall; two sister-in-laws, Doreen (David) Garland and Donna Hankins (and special friend, Mike Phillippe) all of Marshall; also many nieces, nephews and friends. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Virgil; brother, William Wiener; and nephew, Matt Wiener. Blessed Be The Memory Of Cheryl Renee (Wiener) Hankins.
