Christine Callow, age 90, of Marshall passed away at the Tracy Sanford Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2008. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery in Wilno, MN.
Christine Caroline Zinda was born to Harry and Pauline (Blaszak) Zinda on August 29, 1917 in Canby, Minnesota. In 1919 she moved to Ivanhoe with her family. She was baptized and received First Communion at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno and was confirmed at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1937. She went on to work in the welfare office in the Lincoln County Courthouse in Ivanhoe and then for Western Collection and Credit Bureau in Marshall. She also worked as a secretary in the Marshall Public School and in the Lyon County Courthouse in Marshall. On September 14, 1968, Christine was united in marriage to Harry Callow in Marshall. Christine retired on September 1, 1979. She was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Christine passed away on Monday, May 12, 2008. She had reached the age of 90 years 8 months and 14 days.
Her enjoyments in life included fishing and relaxing at the lake cottage in Ortonville, MN, card parties, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Gloria (and Ron) Stelter of Brooklyn Park, Suzanne Zinda of Oconomowoc, WI, and Gordon Zinda of Marshall; great nephew, Douglas (and Reyna) Stelter of Brooklyn Park; great niece, Pamela (and Bill) Harrer of Brooklyn Park; great-grand niece, Gabriela Stelter; great-grand nephew, Caleb Stelter; step-children, Chuck and Nancy; step-grandchildren, Riley and Benjamin; and many other relatives and friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Pauline Zinda; husband, Harry Callow; and brother, Frank Zinda on January 30, 2008.
