Darlys Mae Paxton

January 20, 1942 — March 19, 2014

Ghent: Darlys M. Paxton, age 72, of Ghent, passed away at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 22nd at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service Friday at Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Darcy met Doug while they were both working at the Starlight Drive-In Theater. They were united in marriage on February 19, 1966. To this union a son, Douglas was born. Darcy was employed at Henle’s Printing, and was also an assistant editor for Baldwin Sporting Goods. She was also the parish secretary at First Lutheran Church, retiring in 1972, due to her health.   The love of her life was her family. She was very active in the Minnesota Science Fair with her son Douglas, was an active member of the Marshall Lions Club, where she held several officer positions including Vice District Governor and District Governor. She was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. Darcy also enjoyed college sports, (avid Gopher Fan), Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and also NASCAR Dirt Track Racing.   Darcy is survived by her husband, Doug of Ghent; her son Douglas, daughter-in-law and grandson and granddaughter of Edina; Carol Lass of Minneapolis; brother in law Robert Wooldridge; her puppy Bella; also many other relatives and friends.   Darcy was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Diane Wooldridge.   Blessed Be The Memory of Darlys Paxton
