June 28, 1943 — September 3, 2009

Dennis Bitker, age 66, of Lucan, passed away at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 7, 2009 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy. Burial will be in the Redwood Falls City Cemetery following the lunch. Visitation will be held at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall on Sunday evening, September 6, from 5 to 7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the Church.
Dennis LeRoy Bitker was born to parents Kenneth and Phyllis (Holst) Bitker on June 28, 1943 in Ada, Minnesota. Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school in Milroy, graduating in 1961. He drove truck and farmed after high school.
On August 5, 1972, Dennis was united in marriage to Eileen Berges in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. He continued his farming and worked as a crop insurance worker before retiring a few years ago. He was a proud member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, and served on many church offices. He had a very strong faith and lived his life as such. He was also a member of the West Line township board.
Denny’s enjoyments in life included going to the cabin, fishing, camping, cooking, playing cards, woodworking, hunting water sports, bowling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was the type to always do anything for anyone, no matter how he was feeling. He always gave all he had and never complained. He will be missed.
Dennis passed away on September 3, 2009 at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 6 days.
He is survived by his wife Eileen of Lucan; children, Jason Bitker of Slayton, Melanie Bitker of Mankato, and Nicholas Bitker of Ghent; grandchildren, Taylor Bitker and Meghan Bitker; sister, Myrene (and Wayne) Hastings of Alexandria; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Phyllis.
