Dorothy Lucinda Full

June 11, 1921 — October 8, 2010

Dorothy Lucinda “Cindy” Full 89, of Minneota, went to meet her Savior on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Minneota on Wednesday October 13, 2010. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday, October 12th at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall; prayer service at 7:15 PM with Rosary to follow.
Cindy was born June 11, 1921 to Harry and Angeline (Langenhorst) Schaffhausen in Hospers, Iowa. She was baptized, received her First Holy Communion, was confirmed and married at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers, Iowa. Cindy graduated as Valedictorian from Hospers High School in 1937 and completed Nursing School in Fargo, North Dakota in 1939. She and Ferdinand “Ferd” Full were united in marriage on October 14, 1940 and were blessed with 14 children. They began their life together on the farm north of Taunton where they lived and raised their family.
Her life was dedicated to working side by side with Ferd building the life they shared for 46 years. They farmed, gardened, hauled hay and feeder pigs and drove school bus together. Cindy worked for the Canby School District as an Aide until she joined Ferd in driving school bus. She volunteered at the Minneota Manor doing hair and singing with activities. She then was offered a job in Musical Therapy. Cindy often stated that she was getting paid for something she loved to do. She received recognition for 20 years of service at age 88 from the Minneota Manor.
Her strength in life was her deep faith in Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Cindy shared her faith by her involvement in many parish activities. She taught CCD for over 40 years, sang in the choir, was a lector for mass, was a Eucharistic minister, led the rosary and was an active member of the CCW and Catholic Aid.
Her enjoyments in life were the activities she shared with family and friends; fishing, attending sporting events (featuring her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren), camping, dancing, traveling and bringing joy to everyone through her singing. The highlights of her travels were the many times she went to France. In 2000 she visited Rome with two of her grandchildren to attend the celebration of the Catholic Church Jubilee. The highlight of this trip for Cindy was being part of a small group that received a special blessing from Pope John Paul II and having the spiritual experience of making eye contact with him.
Cindy is survived by her children Clara Bueltel of Marshall, Tom (and Françoise) Full of Bessancourt, France; Mary (and Dennis) Lozinski of Marshall, Mike (and Eunice)Full of Lakeville, Francie (and Bill) Collignon of Rosemount, David (and Barb) Full of Ramsey, Suzanne (and Reed) Huber of Springbrook Wis, Jeanine (and Al) Antony of Marshall, Al (and Deb) Full of Farmington and John (and Michelle) Full of Marshall; foster son Leroy (and Sharon) Dobmeier of Clara city: her sister Valeria (and Milo) Streff of Alton Iowa; 33 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Cindy in death are her husband Ferd, sons Bernard, Richard, Dennis and Philip; her sister Ethel Jungers and brothers Lloyd Schaffhausen and Walter Jungers, and many step-siblings and in-laws.
Cindy’s life and love of singing will always live on in our hearts. She had a song for every occasion and everyone she met. “Who’s that knocking at my door...”; “One day at a time…” All who knew her know she is now singing with the angels.
Blessed be the memory of Dorothy "Cindy" Full.
