She was baptized as in infant in 1920, received first communion on July 3, 1934 at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, and was confirmed on May 27, 1937 in Ivanhoe. Her other enjoyments in life included playing cards, sewing, quilting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, gardening, remodeling their home, and making cookies and homemade bread.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, Edith moved to Prairieview Nursing Home in Tracy. She died there on July 5, 2017, at the age of 96 years, 8 months, and 20 days. Blessed be her memory.
