Marshall: Elsie M. Stenson, age 95, of Marshall, formerly of the Turtle Lake, North Dakota area, passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.     
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 9th at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall. Inurnment will be in the Turtle Lake Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be one hour prior to the service.    
Elsie Marie Ruck was born September 6, 1918 at home near Underwood, ND the daughter of John and Mary (Grosz) Ruck.  She and her family survived the 1918 Flu Epidemic.  She attended a one room rural school and graduated from Turtle Lake High School and Minot Teachers College.    
On September 28, 1941, Elsie was united in marriage to Elmer H. Stenson in Turtle Lake, ND where they established their home. She was required to quit her teaching job when they got married. They lived in McVille, ND prior to moving to Devils Lake, ND in 1949 where they lived and raised their family through the years.  In 2006 they moved to Marshall, Minnesota to be closer to family.    
Elsie was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA and taught Sunday school.

Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. Stenson; an infant son and twin daughters; parents, John and Mary Ruck; sisters, Elizabeth Schauer, Emma Gessle and Violet (Vi) Stenson.
