Gudrun Adella Kidder

Gudrun A. Kidder, age 92, of Marshall, passed away at the Hospice House on Monday, December 10, 2007. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 14, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Gudrun Adella Kidder was born to Hallward and Anna Christine (Hetle) Holt on February 7, 1915 in Kintire Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. She was baptized at Rockdell Lutheran Church in 1915 and confirmed in 1929 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Belview. She attended school at District 28, Belview High School and Dr. Gray's Nursing School in Marshall. On August 14, 1937, Gudrun was united in marriage to Robert Noel Kidder at the Rockdell Lutheran Church. Gudrun was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Weiner Memorial Hospital and also did private duty nursing for many years.
Gudrun passed away at the Hospice House in Marshall on Monday, December 10, 2007. She had reached the age of 92 years, 10 months and 3 days.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynne (Ron) Eyton and Shirley Hazen of Marshall; two sons, David Kidder of Richland, WA, and Mark (Bridget) Kidder of Renton, WA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Arnold Holt of Paynesville; sister-in-law, Clarice Holt of Redwood Falls; brother-in-law, Ernest Kidder of Petoskey, MI; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 2001; son, Bruce Kidder; and two brothers, Henry and Theodore Holt.
Gudrun enjoyed reading and writing poetry and memorizing long sections of poems to recite during sleepless nights. She loved to listen to music, gardening, to do arts and crafts, especially embroidering and crocheting, and was an avid reader who switched to books on tape as her eyesight failed. She and Robert loved car traveling and made numerous trips within the states and Canada before his death.
Gudrun was a faithful member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the UMW. She also was a member of the Federated Current News Study Club, A.A.R.P., and the Senior Citizen Center.
