Harlin Nelson, age 75, of Marshall, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Minneota Manor. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial will take place in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8th from 5 to 7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Harlin Nelson, the son of Tilman and Ida (Laabs) Nelson was born on September 18, 1935 in Madison, MN. Harlin was baptized and confirm at First Lutheran Church in Madison. He was united in marriage to Marlys Ann Buesing on July 19, 1959. To this union six children were born: Gary, Steven, Becky, Jody, Richard and Jeff.
Harlin worked at various jobs including Swift Foods and Marshall Produce and the City of Marshall until his retirement on May 11, 1992. Harlin loved playing bingo, fishing, baseball and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Harlin passed away on Friday, August 05, 2011 at the Minneota Manor. He had reached the age of 75 years, 11 months and 18 days.
Harlin is survived by his children, Gary (Dawn) Nelson of Marshall, Steven (Beverly) Nelson of Vesta, Becky Nelson of Marshall, Jody (Wes) Pronk of Marshall, Richard Nelson of Marshall and Jeff Nelson of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Kendra Rasmussen of Delhi, Aaron and Jarred Nelson of Marshall; one brother, Marvin Nelson of Dawson, sister-in-law, Edith Nelson of Waco, Texas and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys; his parents; brother, Donald Nelson; and sister, Gloria Painter.
