Henry "Bud" Joseph Gregoire Jr.

Henry "Bud" Gregoire Jr., age 86, of Cottonwood, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Prairie Home Hospice Home in Marshall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church. A rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Monday and parish vigil prayers at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Henry "Bud" Joseph Gregoire Jr., the son of Henry and Marie (Caron) Gregoire was born on October 31, 1927 in Marshall. He was baptized, confirmed and received his first communion at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent. In 1942 the family moved to a farm south of Marshall. In 1950 Bud’s family moved to a farm near Hanley Falls.
On November 9, 1950, he was united in marriage to Doris Thieren at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. He actively farmed this property until 1992 and then was always helping as much as he could even through the spring of 2013, with daily visits, working in the fields and checking out the progress of the crops. He never retired and never lost interest.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. He loved to golf and go fishing especially the Canada fishing trips with family. All family members and family activities were very important to him. Bud is survived by his wife, Doris, his children, Tom (Amy) Gregoire, Anna Hawkinson, Susan (Greg) Gniffke, Carolyn (Kim) Runholt, Steven (Gail) Gregoire, Colleen (Dan) Nath, Daniel (Lisa) Gregoire, and 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bradley; brothers, Theodore and Dennis Gregoire; sisters, RoseAdele Traen and Bernetta Gits.
