Laura Lillian Doty

Laura Doty, age 94, of Marshall, passed away peacefully at Hill Street Place on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24th, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Burial will be in the Russell City Cemetery.
Laura Lillian Fifield was born on March 9, 1915, in rural Marshall, Minnesota, to Walter and Myrtle (Blaisdell) Fifield. On October 15, 1941, Laura was united in marriage to Kenneth Doty. Kenneth passed away in 1980, after 39 years of marriage. To this union, two children were born. Laura was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and friends.
Laura loved the Lord and she looked forward to the time when she would get to see Jesus face to face and live eternally. She will be dearly missed.
Laura is survived by children, James Russell (and Susan) Doty of Marshall and Jean Margaret (and David) Eisenberger of Grand Marais; six grandchildren, Barry Wright, Joey Wright, Tom Doty, Katie Badger, Dan Doty, and David Doty; five great-grandsons, Riley and Jalen Dearring, Jacob and Benny Badger, and Jackson Doty; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents; twin brother for 93 years, L. C. “Squeak” Fifield; sister, Mae Zvorak; and twins, Marjarie & Marvin.
A friendly smile – a casual touch. These are the things that mean so much. To know you are with us in this time of sorrow, sharing our prayers today and tomorrow, God gave us comfort in the form of good friends. May His peace be with you. His love never ends.
