Marilyn was born on November 6, 1933 in Sioux Valley Agency, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Clarence and Inez (Lecy) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and graduated from Belview High School in 1951.
On May 9, 1954, Marilyn was united in marriage to Wallace Schlemmer at the Lutheran church in Belview. To this union, four children were born. Marilyn’s love of his her life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her other enjoyments were going to the casino, attending ALANON meetings, volunteering at the Hospital Thrift Store and belonging to the Wood Lake Merry Mother’s Club.
Marilyn passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls on Sunday, December 18, 2011. She had reached the age of 78 years, 1 month and 12 days.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace, of Marshall; children, Vicki (Paul) Ditterich of Willmar, Pam (Gary) McDougall of Willmar, Todd Schlemmer of Rhome, TX and Kirk (Teri) Schlemmer of Wood Lake; six grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Lokken, Tanya Jeseritz, Darin Ditterich, Troy Ditterich, Ashley and Ethan Schlemmer; three great grandchildren, Mckenzie and Tori Jeseritz and Madison Jeseritz; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Behrman-Larson.
