Marshall: Patricia A. Coleman, age 85, of Marshall, formerly of Farmington, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Prairie Home Hospice House. A memorial service will be at Hamilton Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 9, 2012. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Patricia Ann was born to Phillip and Zenobia (Minnick) Whittier on August 13, 1926 in Farmington. She was baptized, confirmed and received first communion in the Catholic faith. Patricia graduated in 1945 from Waupaca High School in Wisconsin. She went on to attend business school and work as a waitress in Minneapolis.
On July 9, 1949, Patricia was united in marriage to Gael Coleman in Somerset, WI. Because of Gael’s career, the family relocated several times in the upper Midwest. Gael retired in 1993 and they moved to Marshall in 2003, to be closer to family.
Patricia passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall. She had reached the age of 85 years, 5 months and 16 days.
She is survived by her husband, Gael, of Marshall; four children, Jeff (and Nitza) of Fresno, CA, Suanne (and Gerry) Smalley, of Redding, CA, Lynn (and Brian) West, of Marshall and Patrick (and Marley) of Kerman, CA; ten grandchildren, Cristina (and Jason) McIntyre, Erica (and Brian) White, Rebecca Smalley, Kathryn (and Lonnie) Provencher, Victoria West, Stuart West, and Hailey, Phoebe, Chloe and Zachary Coleman; and five great-grandchildren, Jonah, Claire and Marlo Provencher, and Marisol and Ena McIntyre.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Patricia answered the two highest callings in life that of Mom and and loving Wife. In these roles Patricia excelled, and was the Heart and glue of the family and taught her children how to love. There was never ever even one second where her children didn't know in their hearts that they were completely and totally loved, and still to this day her love can be felt among her family in every day life. Patricia contributed to the circle of life and left the world a much better place.
