Thomas Curtis Warren

November 5, 1936 - August 26, 2021

Thomas “Tom” Warren, age 84, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. A Memorial Visitation will be held at a later date. Thomas Curtis Warren was born on November 5, 1936, in Tracy, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward “Ed” and Doris (Wreath) Warren. Tom attended Tracy High School. In high school, he was an active athlete on the school’s basketball team and enjoyed playing in the Legion League Softball team. During high school, Tom worked at Hedger Brother’s Grocery Store in Tracy. Tom graduated with the class of 1955. After high school, he continued to work for Hedger Brother’s Grocery Store and joined the National Guards for several years. On October 19, 1958, Tom was united in marriage to Marian Artz at the United Methodist Church in Tracy. The couple moved to Marshall, Minnesota in 1963 where Tom worked at Lloyd’s Fairway Store for 10 years, then moved to Montevideo, Minnesota where he worked as a store manager for two years at Lloyd’s. The couple moved back to Marshall in 1975 where they raised their two daughters, Leslie and Linda. After moving back to Marshall, Tom started working for Oak Grove Dairy. Later Tom and Marian owned the house-to-house milk delivery for six years. His final job after working for Oak Grove Dairy, was for Old Dutch Foods where he retired in 2000. After retirement, Tom worked part-time at County Fair Grocery Store until the store closed. In his free time, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren fondly remember spending summers filled with camping, fishing, and hunting with Grandma and Grandpa. Tom was a proud 32nd degree member of the Freemasons. He was also a member of multiple leagues, including golfing and bowling. In later years, Tom enjoyed drinking coffee and talking with his friends. He will be remembered for his big smile. Thomas Curtis Warren died on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. He reached the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Blessed be his memory. Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian Warren of Marshall; 2 daughters, Leslie Warren of Marshall, Linda Vanderwerf of Sioux Falls, SD; 2 grandchildren, Amber (Chad) VanDenBerg of Sioux Falls, SD, Taylor (Paige) Vanderwerf of Alcester, SD; 2 great-grandchildren, Madelyn of Sioux Falls, SD, Grace of Alcester, SD; 2 sisters, Helen Anderson of Walnut Grove, Nancy Warren of Mazeppa; 1 brother, Don (Kathy) Warren of Oakes, ND; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Bloch of Oakebena, Bonnie Wiese of Slayton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Doris Warren; 2 brothers, Jim Warren, Bob Warren; sister-in-law, Lois Bratsch; 2 brothers-in-law, Wayne Wiese, and Wally Bloch.
