Arlene Frances Van Heuveln

Marshall; Arlene VanHeuveln, age 75, of Marshall, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. A prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Arlene Frances Baune, the daughter of Henry and Frances (Frericks) Baune was born on October 30, 1937 in Wabasso, Minnesota. She gew up on the family farm near Lucan and attended country school from grades one through eight and graduated from Milroy High School in 1955.
On November 30, 1957, Arlene married John Van Heuvelin at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. After many moves the family settled in Cottonwood in 1970.
Arlene worked at Vishay-HiRel Systems (Schott Corporation) for 41 years and was still employed, she loved her job and spending time with her co-workers.
Arlene loved bowling, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren and great-grandson Kollin who was her pride and joy. She also loved spending time visiting with her brothers and sisters. Arlene and sister Betty many times would go out visiting and come back with something that needed to be baked by her daughters, usually an apple pie.
Arlene passed away at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 75 years 10 months.
Arlene is survived by her three daughters, Wendy, Kimberly and Kelly Van Heuveln and son, Todd (Dawn) Van Heuveln all of Cottonwood; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell (Krystal) Van Heuveln of Willmar and Matthew Van Heuveln of Cottonwood, Kimberly Ramos of Marshall, Joshua Ramos of Cottonwood and Meagan(Danny Johnson) Ramos of Willmar; her pride and joy great-grandson, Kollin Van Heuveln; her brothers, LaVerne (Eleanor) Baune of Marshall, Merlin (June) Baune of Lucan, Roman (Shirley) Baune of Redwood Falls; sisters, Phyllis (Dick) Holt of Glenwood and Betty Baune of Glenwood; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, infant son, Danny Lee, sister, Dorothy Olson and brother, Jerome Baune.
