Bryan Arzdorf, age 60, of Marshall, Minnesota, died with family at his side on Friday, April 24, 2026, at his home. Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A Prayer Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
Bryan Avery Arzdorf was born on December 29, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of Ailried "Ozzie" and Judith "Judy" (Lanners) Arzdorf. In the 5th grade, he moved with his family to Marshall, Minnesota, where he finished his education and graduated with the Marshall High School class of 1984. He then went on to work for Lanners Construction.
Bryan was married to Jill Haar in 1986, and the couple had one daughter, Alyssa. He was married again in 1992 to Anita Hartema, and they had three children together: Addison, Tori, and Jason. Later, Bryan and Mary Kay Thomas spent many years together before getting married in 2022.
Bryan was very talented in many construction areas including landscaping, deck building, patios, brick and mortar, plumbing, and electrical. His broad knowledge base and skill level in so many areas served him well while at Lanners Construction and home improvement projects. In 2005, he shifted focus to his law enforcement career. After attending Minnesota West, Bryan worked for the Marshall Police Department until health challenges forced his retirement in January of 2023. Bryan battled his cancer and was able to come back and work in dispatch.
Bryan was a lifetime member of the Redwood River Sportsman's Club where he taught firearm safety and coached trap shooting. Bryan was a hard worker who always invested heavily in his hobbies. He was innovative person and a true problem solver in so many areas of life. His passions included all types of music, dancing, traveling, golfing, honeybees, tapping for maple syrup, camping, grilling, and boating. Bryan enjoyed his time with family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren, and beloved dogs.
Bryan Arzdorf died under the care of Avera Home Hospice on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Marshall, Minnesota. He reached the age of 60 years, 3 months, and 26 days. Blessed be his memory.
He has survived is 4 children, Alyssa (and Bruce) McDowell of Sioux Falls, SD, Addison Jensen of Marshall, Tori Arzdorf of Brookings, SD, Jason Arzdorf of Mankato; father, Ozzie Arzdorf of Marshall; wife, Mary Kay Thomas of Saint Michael; 4 grandchildren, Watson, Maribel, Kane, Avery June; 3 siblings, Pam (and Mike) Hanson of St. Louis, MO, David (and Sandy) Arzdorf of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (and Keith) Lundberg of Yankton, SD; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Bryan was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Arzdorf.
