Coleen Grace Alness

Coleen Alness, age 65, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home. Memorial Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Following a reception, interment will be in the Spring Creek Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, south of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, at the church.
Coleen Grace Alness was born on June 28, 1957, at the Clarkfield Memorial Hospital in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ornie R. and Grace M. (Gatchell) Alness. Coleen was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church of Normania Township. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1975 and went on to General Secretarial studies at Granite Falls Area Vocational Technical Institute in Granite Falls, Minnesota.
Coleen started her career working in the office at Clarkfield High School, then went on to work for Minnwest Bank in Montevideo, Minnesota. She completed her career at North Star Insurance Company in Cottonwood, Minnesota.
Coleen lived her entire life in rural Clarkfield. She loved spending time with family, being involved with her church, baking, cooking, and traveling. Coleen was a caring person with a servant heart. She blessed her family and friends with her willingness to help with any task. Her ability to find joy and purpose in each day was a reflection of her faith and love for Jesus. Coleen was loved by all who knew her, and always had a smile and hug to share.
Coleen passed away at her home in Tyro Township on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 65 years and five days. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her father, Ornie Alness of Clarkfield; siblings, Richard (Cindy) Alness of Mound, Arlene (Russ) Young of Tea, SD, Joanne (Larry) Hanson of Gravois Mills, MO, David (Carol) Alness of Clarkfield; 14 nieces and nephews; and 19 great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Alness.
