Daniel Bowman, age 75, of Waterville, formerly of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away Monday, October 13, 2014, at Traditions of Waterville in Waterville, Minnesota. Funeral services are Friday, October 17, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall, with interment following in the Marshall City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, at the church.

Daniel Lawrence Bowman was born on June 25, 1939, in Waseca, Minnesota. He was the son of Lawrence “Larry” and Vera (Comstock) Bowman. Daniel was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in his youth, both at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall. He attended Marshall Schools and graduated from Marshall High School, class of 1957. He went on to work for many years at several newspapers.
On April 8, 1967, Dan was united in marriage to Eva Jean Pederson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy. He worked for the Marshall Messenger and Independent newspapers before moving to Rochester. Dan spent 23 years working at the Rochester Post-Bulletin before returning to Marshall in 1991. Dan also worked at the Marshall 6 movie theater. In June of 2013, when Dan needed additional care, he moved to Traditions of Waterville Care Center in Waterville, Minnesota.
Dan was an avid golfer and truly enjoyed the game. He also enjoyed video games, computer games, watching football and golf on TV, eating out, and volunteering, namely at Esther’s Kitchen in Marshall. He loved to attend any outreach event and always tried to make other laugh.
Daniel died on Monday, October 13, 2014, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Dan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scot Bowman and his wife Cheryl (Lichtsinn) of Milroy; grandchildren, AnnaRae Bowman and JoElla Bowman; former wife, Eva Jean Bowman of Milroy; other relatives and many friends.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence “Larry” and Vera Bowman.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
