Glenn Jay Olson was born on March 7, 1954, to Jimmie and Ally Olson.  Just six short days later, the love of his life, Connie, came into the world just for him.  He grew up a farm boy in Minnewaukan, North Dakota, where he and his sweetheart would later be destined to meet. Glenn and his brother Paul and sister Sonia have many stories to tell and did many things on the farm, but never ate any Oreo cookies (wink!).

Glenn became a Civil Engineer, and was the City Engineer in Devils Lake, North Dakota, and City Engineer and Public Works Director in Marshall, Minnesota, each for many years, where he had the opportunity to meet and work with so many great people.

Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman, and always reveled in taking kids out to experience the outdoors.  He and his lifelong friend Bruce also enjoyed trips to the south to hunt “woo-ducks.”  Thanks to Bruce, he also became a pilot and developed a great love of flying.

He was an active member of the Rotary Club and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers for many years.  He also enjoyed being a member of sporting organizations like Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever, and formed wonderful friendships sharing hunting expeditions with the Thunderhawk Sportsmens Club.

Later in life, Glenn found joy in riding his motorcycle with his bride always right behind him taking photos.  They found lifelong friends in their riding group, the Back Road Riders.  In addition to enjoying many beautiful rides and tasty breakfasts together, they shared a special bond and a zest for living life to the fullest.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie; parents, Jimmie and Ally; two daughters, Melissa and Amy; granddaughters, Olivia and Bella; brother, Paul; sister, Sonia; and the most wonderful group of family and friends that anyone could ask for.  He continues to be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, grampa, and friend; Glenn loved all his family and friends dearly.
