Jamie Lee Dwire was born on October 23, 1978, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Larry and Pat (Kopitski) Dwire. Jamie was baptized as an infant at St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley, Minnesota. He grew up in Marshall where he received his first communion and was later confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Jamie attended Marshall public school and graduated there with the high school class in 1997. He went on to continue his education at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.

After earning his bachelor's degree at SMSU Jamie worked at the state prison as a guard in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A few years later he moved to the Twin Cities where he began his career with Hennepin County. He spent most of his career working there except for a few years when he returned to Marshall before moving back to the Twin Cities.

Jamie enjoyed working at Hennepin County as a Principal Child Support Officer.  He loved working from home with his “assistant” Boston Terrier named Aodhnait.  He had several Boston Terriers over the years, and they were a source of daily joy and entertainment for him. Jamie was also very committed to mixed martial arts including Taekwondo, Jiu Jitsu, Muay-Thai and kickboxing. Jamie spent many years in Marshall with Lee's Taekwondo and was well known at gyms around the Twin Cities for his love of Martial Arts.  His other enjoyments in life included playing the guitar (including a few brief stints in some bands), comparing different pepperoni pizzas, and making solo trips to Korea, Spain, and Ireland. Ireland held a particularly special place in his heart, and he enjoyed researching and learning about his heritage.

Jamie Dwire died peacefully at his home on Friday, February 2, 2024. He had reached the age of 45 years, 3 months, and 10 days. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his pet and constant companion, Aodhnait; mother, Pat Dwire of Marshall; 3 brothers, John Dwire of Marshall, Jim (and Jodi) Dwire of Lamberton, Jason (and Brenda) Dwire of Marshall; 4 nieces and nephews, Nathan (and Ashley), Brittney, Kayla (and fiancé Jared Antony), Justin; other relatives and many friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dwire; maternal grandparents, Anton & Clara Kopitski; paternal grandparents, Lawrence & Cecelia Dwire; and past Boston Terrier companions, Kimmie, Luca, and Aoife.
