Jason Eaton, age 52, of Marshall, Minnesota, and formerly of Waterford, Connecticut, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home. A Private Funeral Service will be held soon in Marshall prior to a Memorial Celebration of Life that will take place in Connecticut. That event will begin at Noon on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the RAFA (Retirement Armed Forces Association) located at 135 Garfield Ave, New London, CT 06320.
Jason Edward Eaton was born on February 4, 1971, in New London, Connecticut. He was raised by parents, Poppy and Janice (O'Brien-)Haney. Jason grew up in Waterford, Connecticut, and after attending school there he eventually earned his GED. In May of 2000 Jason was united in marriage to Lisa Kerns and to this union three beautiful children were born prior to their divorce in April of 2007.
Jason worked for many years as a carpenter and contractor. He was truly a Jack-of-all-trades and loved using his hands as a skilled, self-taught Craftsman. In 2014, he moved to Minnesota to be closer to his daughters in an effort to reconnect with them and their growing families.
Jason's enjoyments in life included deep sea fishing, rock music, working on cars, caring for his Pit Bulls, and anything related to Harley-Davidson. He taught his daughters to be self-sufficient and was proud of the young women they have become.
Jason Eaton died suddenly on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in Marshall, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 52 years, 5 months, and 22 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his daughters, Marisa Eaton (and fiancé Ruben Leal) of Mankato, Erin Eaton (and boyfriend Darren Nelson) of Clarkfield; ex-wife, Lisa (and Shawn) Jones of Montevideo; 4 grandchildren and two grandsons on the way, Brynlee Dortch, Marshawn Dortch, Mateo Leal, Hazley Josephson; 4 siblings, Cathy Menghi of Waterford, CT, Pati Lewis of Waterford, CT, Erin (and Nick) Sabila of East Lyme, CT, Chris Eaton of Waterford, CT; beloved Pit Bull, Roxy; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert "Poppy" Haney and Janice O'Brien-Haney; son, Hunter Eaton; and brother, George Wunneburger.
