Marshall

Jeannette Bedow, age 84, of Marshall, Minnesota, died at her home on Sunday, January 21, 2024, under the care of her loving husband. Funeral Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Marshall EFree Church. A reception will follow immediately in the church basement. Interment will then be in the Arco City Cemetery later that afternoon. Visitation will be held just prior to her celebration, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, at the church.

Jeannette Evelyn Warnke was born on March 29, 1939, in Wood Lake, Minnesota. She was one of four children born to Marvin and Mabel (Christopherson) Warnke.  Jeannie was baptized as an infant at Wood Lake Lutheran Church, graduating with the class of 1957, and went on to continue her education at the Minneapolis Business College.

Her first job in Minneapolis was for Fingerhut Manufacturing. Soon thereafter she was united in marriage to Ronald Bedow on August 10, 1958, and the couple made their home in the Twin Cities.  Jeannie worked for many years as a registered daycare provider.  After they moved into their Eagan home, Jeannette was happy to gain more space for her children to play, both indoors and out. She also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield (based out of Eagan) prior to 1983 when the family moved to the farm near Arco. Jeannette was a faithful member of Peace Reformed Church in Eagan and then the Marshall Evangelical Free Church in Marshall.

Jeannette helped on the family farm in several areas but also enjoyed being a homemaker and mother to her four children. She tended to her flower gardens, canned all types of food, spent hours mowing the big lawn, and served on the Women's Missionary Board. After retirement, the couple moved just West of Marshall and later into town.

Jeannette recalled her greatest accomplishments were marrying Ron and going to a Billy Graham crusade in Saint Paul where she fully accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.  She then chose to be baptized again in Lake Benton Lake. Jeannette was proud to hold several jobs in her churches including hand bells at Peace Reformed Church.  Another significant enjoyment included traveling, as a family and also taking Ron’s mother along for many years.  Jeannette cherished time spent with family particularly at Christmas when families would get together. She will be lovingly remembered for her smile and being a dependable, kind, and honest person.

Jeannette Bedow died on Sunday, January 21, 2024, surrounded by family at her home. She had reached the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 23 days. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her husband of 64 1/2 years, Ron Bedow of Marshall; 4 children, Mary (and Ron) Choronzy of Rosemount, David (and Kathleen) Bedow of Arvada, CO, Mark (and Rutsuko) Bedow of Saitama Prefecture, Japan, Jeff (and Kari) Bedow of Victoria; 12 grandchildren, Genelle Choronzy, Dan Choronzy (and Jill Cromey), Jason Choronzy (and Kendra Jenniges), Beth Choronzy, Donna Choronzy (and John Pfeiffer), Bethany (and Josh) Spencer, Stephanie (and Jakob) Andersson, Kachel Bedow, Jessica Bedow, Marikah Bedow, Brennen Bedow, Hannah Bedow; 4 great-grandchildren, Kyrra, Dane, Heaven, Jocelyn; sisters, Dianne Bode of Burnsville, Nona (and Ray) Oie of Spicer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
