Joseph Allen Como

Joseph Como, age 59, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his home. Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The evening will conclude with a time to share memories at 7:00 p.m.

Joseph Allen Como was born on November 22, 1966, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was the son of Wilfred and Georgianne (Vogel) Como. Joseph was baptized as an infant, received first communion, and was also confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. He attended Marshall schools and then worked various jobs around Marshall.

Joe lived his entire life in Marshall and soon found work at the Turkey Plant. He spent many years there, through several ownership transitions, and ended his career there as site manager. Joe was married 2 times which gave him his 6 children and beloved grandkids.

Joe's enjoyments in life included watching football (and most other sports too), fishing, playing Bingo, doing puzzles, time spent with his family, and occupying his favorite stool at Fuzzy's where he solved many of life's problems over the course of a million conversations among friends.

Joseph Como died peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his home. He reached the age of 59 years, 6 months, and 5 days. Blessed and eternal be his memory.

He is survived by 6 children, Mac (and Erica) Como of Willmar, Ted Como of Stillwater, Lorena Como of St. Paul, Amber "Flash" Como of Thousand Palms, CA, Maja (and Aung) Hla of Marshall, Joey Como of Marshall; 4 grandchildren with another baby boy on the way, Josiah Como, Maci Como, Myles Como, Samiya Hla; girlfriend, Jennifer Wellnitz of Marshall; 3 siblings, Dianne Como (and Kate Blau) of Minneapolis, Debra (and Todd) Krieger of Aubudon, Billy Como of Eagle Grove, IA; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred & Georgianne Como; siblings, Luanne Como, Bruce Como, and James "Jim" Como; and a nephew, Jeremy Como.
