Joyce Leach, age 68, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. Memorial Mass is 10:30 AM Monday, February 13, 2017, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held 4:00 –7:00 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one half-hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 10:30 AM, on Monday at the church.

Joyce Mary Polman was born May 29, 1948, to Henry and Julia (Louwagie) Polman in Marshall, Minnesota. Her family made their home in Marshall and she attended Catholic grade school before graduating from Central Catholic High School in Marshall, with the class of 1966. Joyce would go on to work for 30 years in various roles at Norwest, and later Wells-Fargo, Bank in Marshall.

Joyce was united in marriage to James Leach on September 29, 1979, at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Marshall. The couple lived in Marshall where she attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Joyce retired from the bank in 2000.

Joyce and Jim enjoyed winter in Arizona for 9 years and then Texas for 2 years in their retirement. Joyce also loved rummage sales, visiting the casino, baking for family and friends, and playing cards. She was very well-liked, friendly, and helpful to all. She was a very special wife, mother, daughter, sister, “Auntie Joyce”, and friends to so many.

Family came first. Joyce spent her last few days surrounded by her loving husband of 37 years, sons, daughters, and others. She will be remembered with smiles, tears, and memories by those that knew and loved her so dearly.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers over the last few years that brought so much joy to her heart. Joyce died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 10 days. God bless her memory.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Jim Leach; children, Lynn Conroy, Laurie (Jay) Kodytek, Lyn Zurn, Brad (Paula) Leach, Jeff Leach, Todd (Sarah) Leach; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 siblings, Irma Vroman, Butch (Jeannie) Polman, Judy (Maurice) Vandewiele, Joann McChesney, Jere Polman, Stephen (Ginger) Polman, Michael Polman, Jeff (Nancy) Polman; sister-in-law, Barb (Rod) Sundheim; and many special friends and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Julia Polman; son, Michael Leach; sister, Grace Kerkvliet; brother, Joseph Polman; son-in-law, Stephen Conroy; sister-in-law, Patricia Polman; brothers-in-law, Donald Vroman, Richard Kerkvliet, and Jerry McChesney.
