Kenneth Gannott, age 76, of Plymouth and formerly of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Mission Nursing Home. A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota.
Kenneth Dale Gannott was born in Tyler, Minnesota, on August 11, 1949, to George and Amy (Towne) Gannott. He spent most of his growing years in Balaton, Minnesota. Ken graduated from Slayton High School with the class of 1967 and then attended Canby Vo-Tech where he studied Auto Mechanics.
The day after graduating from Vo-Tech, he began his career as a mechanic at Lockwood Motors in Marshall, Minnesota. Ken worked his entire career at Lockwood’s, retiring in 1999. Cars were not just his career, but a hobby and passion. Ken was involved in local racing for many years, first as a driver in Slayton and Redwood Falls, and later he served as a mechanic and on the pit crew for his nephew.
In April of 1971, Ken married Charlotte Persons and the couple was blessed with two children, Dale and Judy.
For the last several years, Ken has resided in Plymouth, Minnesota, at an assisted living facility.
Ken Gannott died peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Plymouth, Minnesota, at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 10 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his children, Dale (and Sonda) Gannott of Helena, MT, Judy (and Cevin) Reed of Delano; grandchildren, Isaac Gannott, Emily Gannott, Riley Reed, Abigail Reed, Lincoln Reed; sister, Verna (and Wayne) Wee of Hadley; sisters-in-law, Marlene Gannott of Marshall, Marilyn Gannott of Marshall, Lonnie Gannott of Windom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, George & Amy Gannott; brothers, Robert Gannott, Edward Gannott, David Gannott, Ricky Gannott; sisters, Mary (and Jerry) Hetland, Kathy (and Richard) Saccucci; and a nephew, Richard Saccucci.
