Marion Martha Wiering

Marion Wiering, age 87, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Marion Martha Priebe was born on August 6, 1938, in Tyler, Minnesota, to Walter and Felicita (Habben) Priebe. She was baptized as an infant as confirmed in her youth at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tyler. Marion attended school in Tyler and graduated there with the class of 1956. She met Mr. Earl Wiering while roller skating and the couple was engaged before his military deployment. She went on to work for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance in Minneapolis.

On May 31, 1956, Marion was united in marriage to Earl and the couple made their home briefly in Tyler. The couple called Marshall home since 1959 where they raised their daughter, Tamera. Marion worked at Peretson Music and at the counseling office at the Marshall High School before starting with the Minnesota Educator Academy where she spent over 33 years dedicated to education.

Marion was a long-time member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall and active in the camping club. She and Earl traveled extensively with their campers and motorhome over the years. She also liked spending time on the water, boating, but her true passion was baking and always made sure her friends and family were well-fed.

Marion Wiering died peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She reached the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 8 days. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Earl Wiering of Marshall; daughter, Tammy (and Ralph) Dudley of Grand Blank, MI; 3 grandchildren, Melanie (and Andrew) Kraemer, Crystal (and Matt) Metivier, Brittany (and Justin) Lawrence; 5 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Norman, Adeline, Walter, Everett; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Felicita Priebe; 3 babies; and a brother, Walter Priebe.
