Michael Day, age 62, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota.
Michael Roger Day was born on July 1, 1962, in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was the son of Charles and Donna (Hopkins) Day. Mike grew up in various places as the family moved from Ohio to Colorado and Virginia before they settled in Minnesota when Mike was in the eighth grade. He attended high school in Clarkfield where he graduated in 1980 and then went to Canby to study two more years at the vocational college. In 1982, Mike began washing trucks at the local International truck dealer.
Mike soon found work with R&G Construction where he worked for over 41 years driving truck and servicing vehicles as a mechanic. He made his home in Clarkfield, on the farmhouse that his family purchased when they came to Minnesota, and was proud to care for his pet Dobermans over the years.
Mike’s enjoyments in life included cooking, gardening, listening to music, watching TV, firearms, and collecting knives and swords. He always made it to family get-togethers and enjoyed spending time with nieces and nephews.
Michael Day died at his home on Sunday, June 15, 2025. He reached the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 14 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Donna Day of Waldorf; siblings, Gina (and Michael) Moore of Worthington, Terry (and Lorie) Day of Panama City, FL, Judy (and Arlen) Mauland of Cleveland; his beloved dog – his pride and joy – Bella; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
