Patricia “Pat” Dwire, age 78, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall, followed by a luncheon back at the church, in Carlin Hall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. The evening will conclude with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to her celebration, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at the church.
Patricia Barbara Kopitski was born on March 9, 1947, in Hendricks, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Anton and Clara (Fier) Kopitski. Pat grew up in Taunton, Minnesota, where she was baptized as an infant, received her first communion, and was confirmed in her youth at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church. Pat attended school in Minneota where she met Mr. Larry Dwire.
Pat and Larry were united in marriage on January 11, 1964, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. They made their home in Ghent and soon welcomed their first son. The couple moved to Marshall and added three more sons to their family as Pat was a devoted homemaker and mother. In 1998 she started her own daycare business which she operated for the next 26 years, retiring just two years ago.
Pat’s enjoyments in life included crafting, needlepointing, cross-stitching, time spent outdoors, caring for her lawn, and trying her luck on the penny slots. She supported her family in all of their endeavors, whether that be car races, hockey games, or dance. Pat was her family’s biggest supporter. She also enjoyed expressing her creative side with all of her daycare children.
Pat Dwire died in Rochester, Minnesota, on January 10, 2026. She reached the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 1 day. Blessed and eternal be her memory.
She is survived by 3 sons, John Dwire of Marshall, Jim (and Jodi) Dwire of Lamberton, Jason (and Brenda) Dwire of Marshall; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Dwire, Brittney Dwire, Kayla (and Jared) Antony, Justin Dwire (and Lauren Wherry); 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Roseanne Varpness of Marshall, Irene Polman of Hutchinson; 2 cats, Ella and Milo; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Clara Kopitski; husband, Larry Dwire (in 2005), son, Jamie Dwire (in 2024); and 6 siblings.
