Rachel Marie Moat

Rachel Moat, age 27, of Marshall, Minnesota, died following a courageous cancer battle on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A private memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Rachel Marie Moat was born on May 30, 1999, in Marshall, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Eugene Moat and Stacy Miller. Rachel grew up in Marshall and attended school there, graduating with the high school class of 2018. She went on to work at Taco Bell and Dairy Queen in Marshall and at the Casey's General Store in Pipestone.

Rachel was as artistic soul who always looked for ways to help family and friends. She cared for a cat, Cookie, and several dogs over the years: Casey, Angel, Panda, and (most recently) Chevy. Her other enjoyments in life included cooking, baking, drawing, and doing puzzles with her GrandMa Flo. Rachel found beauty in nature, especially butterflies and wolves.

Rachel carried a positive attitude into her cancer battle. Her strength and courage through her medical challenges were inspiring. Rachel Moat died on June 4, 2026, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, just 5 days after her 27th birthday. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her daughter, Jada Flo Jones of Lake Benton; father, Eugene Moat of Marshall; mother, Stacy Miller of Sioux Falls, SD; siblings, Justin Moat of Marshall, Cody Miller of Sioux Falls, SD; maternal grandmother, Darlene Kruger; aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Rachel was preceded in death by her infant brother, Marshall Moat, paternal grandparents, Wayne & Florence Moat; and maternal grandfather, Lawrence Miller.
