Robin Ray Sanow

Rob Sanow, age 67, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, with a Prayer Service at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. in the State Veteran Cemetery in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.

Robin Ray Sanow was born on February 23, 1959, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Frank and Cecilia (Garrow) Sanow. Rob was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and grew up in Marshall. He graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1977 and then served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for two years. Upon his honorable discharge, Rob returned in 1981 where he lived in Virginia.

In 1983 Rob was united in marriage to Donna Bunch in Monroe, Michigan, and the couple made their home there for the next 10 years. They had a daughter, Kelli, in 1986 and then divorced in the early 1990s. Rob worked as a machinist for General Motors and drove truck while in Michigan. Following the divorce, he moved to Wyoming to work at the oil fields for many years before retiring early due to health reasons. Rob returned to Marshall in 2010.

Rob was a member of the Marshall American Legion and the Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed trying his luck at the casino, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and watching any sporting event on TV - particularly the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Rob Sanow died peacefully at his home on September 8, 2026. He reached the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 16 days. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Donovan of Walbridge, OH; mother, Cecilia Sanow of Marshall; granddaughter, Adelyn Kolvick; 6 siblings, Randy Sanow of Newton, KS, Rodney (and Lisa) Sanow of East Bethel, Sonia (and Brian) Winter of Glyndon, Gale "Jake" (and Deb) Sanow of Marshall, Troy Sanow (and Aaron Yoakum) of Marshall, Jason (and Vanessa Sanow) of Glenwood; half siblings, Dale (and Glenda) Sanow of Jasper, Linda Sanow of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sanow, and a nephew, Brandon Dummer.
