Tamary Ann Bakke

Tammy Bakke, age 52, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at her home. Any Celebration of Life Memorial Services are currently pending. Her beautiful soul is free. Though her earthly story wasn’t long, it was eloquently defined by quiet strength, a kind heart, a dark sense of humor, and most of all – love.

Tammy loved deeply. She gave freely—so freely to others, expecting nothing in return. She moved gently through people’s lives, sharing her love easily and readily—leaving behind kindness, laughter, compassion, and love.

Tammy was deeply loved—first by her parents, Thomas and Mary Larson; by her sister, Tara (Larson) Zuhlsdorf; by her son, Riley Bakke; and by her rescue dog Molly. And she loved them with all her heart.

So many others loved Tammy, too. She knew they loved her – and she loved them.

This obituary isn’t the normal one, but Tammy wanted hers to be special. When asked what she meant by “special,” the conversations always drifted into all the hilarious and slightly dark ways her obituary and celebration could be just that.

Tammy loved reading obituaries—every single day. She believed these stories mattered. So, this is written to say that an incredible human being was on this earth – and her story mattered. Like most stories, there were chapters of incredible happiness, deep sadness, and everything in between—until her body could carry her no further and her beautiful soul was free.

But her story doesn’t end with death. Though she is gone, her love remains – and her grit, her spirit, and her rebellious hope will carry us forward until we see her again.

Until then, we know she will be doing what she always did—loving, guiding, protecting us, and maybe even laughing at us.
